Brooke earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Visual Communication from the University of Kansas (KU) in 2005. She spent 14 years as the art director and illustrator for Colonial Patterns in the Kansas City River Market district. For the past year, she has been serving as the Marketing Director for Xavier Catholic School in Leavenworth, Kansas.
An avid sewer, embroiderer, and overall crafter, Brooke can often be found working on projects for her daughters, hiking, or cooking meals with her husband on the weekends. Although she considers herself an amateur in many crafts, she loves to learn new skills and will always be a student of the arts. Some of her favorite artists include Mary Blair, Sandy Skoglund, Charley Harper, Ed Emberley, Jon Klassen, Charles and Ray Eames, Cindy Sherman, Vivian Maier, and Sister Corita Kent. Additionally, she always has a Dolly Parton song in her heart and is on the lookout for good St. Louis-style pizza in Kansas City.
Brooke is a founding member of LV Arts, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Leavenworth, Kansas. She sees a need for more artistic opportunities in her community, especially for youth. Growing up in Leavenworth, she benefited from the Carnegie Arts Center, St. Mary's theater department, and a wonderful high school art teacher who encouraged and nurtured her love of art.
Loves Disney World, the color yellow, Dolly Parton, and her colored pencils in rainbow order.
There is always time for coffee and dreaming.
